i'm sure that some of our posters here witnessed the Seastones spectacle live in back in '74.

what was it like live?

did the crowd openly hate it? did people bring earmuffs?

I've read A LOT of reviews on shows where it was performed, and most of them panned it and said it sucked. Did it "suck" anymore than some of those "SPACE's" that were played for the last 10-15 years fo the GD's performances? I was not a fan of SPACE exactly, and used DRUMS&SPACE to go to the bathroom, get a hot dog, roll a joint, smoke said joint with friends, etc. But Seastones seemed to my mind to be something a little different from SPACE. While it was spacey, it was just different---I can't explain it any other way. I would've stayed & listened to it had I been of concert-going-age at the time. My parents were/are not "heads" so I don't think too many 3 year olds were going to Ticketron or Bass outlets & then hitching rides to & from the shows.

ellis, i am glad you bring this kinda stuff up, I wonder about the same things

If they crowd openly did hate it, i think it's fuckin' awesome the dead played it =)

I would *think* that the psychedelic crowd [ok so everyone] might have liked it tho? I have listened to a few minutes of some seastones, but not all of it.. Does it have a theme? i've always figured it was like "Space" but tripped out times two..
